“Finding Kala” Commissioned by the Britten Pears Foundation

During Summer 2014 I wrote “Finding Kala” for the fantastically dedicated Project Instrumental.

It was premiered on the 9th October 2014 at Limewharf, London, and had a second performance at the Old Fire Station in Oxford the following week.

An 18 minute work for strings, influences include the writing of James Joyce, Alan Watts talks on Western v Eastern concepts of time, the music of John Zorn, and a memory of a childhood feeling of absent mindedly zapping through t.v channels.
